Securing Funding Workshop 2009 - Brisbane

Increase your capacity to secure funding...speak face to face with funding bodies...learn about alternate sources of funding from a philanthropy expert... hear local case studies of successful partnerships and grant applications

Time: 9am-5.30pm both days
Venue: Lv. 2 Seminar Room, 381 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley
Cost: $40 (MAQ, RGAQ, BLHN members), $50 non-members. Includes all workshop resources and catering.


This two-day funding workshop, for museums, galleries, and other arts & cultural heritage organisations, will provide an introduction to funding models and structures, and tips for:

designing a project
writing grant applications
creating a budget
keeping up to date with grants programs
developing partnerships

Philanthropic expert Linda Griffith will speak about fundraising and preparing a case for support. Arts Queensland will be available to speak to participants about their funding programs, as well as representatives from the NLA Community Heritage Grant Program, Brisbane City Council Community Grants and Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) . There will be the chance for one-on-one interviews with funding body representatives, providing an opportunity to speak with them directly about your project ideas.

Learn the secrets to the success of two local small museums, and a social history and visual arts museum in securing funding through their case studies of successful grant applications.

Places are limited so please indicate your interest in attending as soon as possible. Registrations limited to 2 people per organisation.
