art+place Regional Workshops 2010

Through financial assistance from Arts Queensland art+place (the Queensland Government Public Art Fund), Museum & Gallery Services Queensland have coordinated several art+place regional workshops around the State.

Art+place personnel along with staff from Museum and Gallery Services Queensland travelled to Mackay, Warwick, Blackall, Gladstone and Cardwell to deliver the free workshops which outlined the art+ place funding program. The art+place funding program is designed to breathe new life into public spaces, buildings, parks and facilities across the state. Regional workshops provided an opportunity for art+place personnel to clearly outline the application process and provide examples of successful applications to regional communities.

The workshops also included a range of guest speakers who presented on examples of inspirational public art from Australia and overseas and, also, illustrated case studies by public artists.

After the workshops, members of the public had the opportunity to book one-on-one interviews with art+place personnel, enabling those with a specific project to gain feedback on how best to address the funding criteria.

Some speaker presentations are available for those unable to attend any of the workshops.
