A register of affected organisations is available to download below. M&GSQ will continue to update the register as information comes to hand.

Queensland Flood and Cyclone Damage Register - Updated 18/2/11

M&GSQ is working with Christine Ianna, a Queensland representative of the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM), to provide Q-DIS, a Queensland Disaster Information Network, for Queensland’s collections sector. We encourage you to join Q-DIS to connect with colleagues across regional and metropolitan Queensland. Q-DIS is also a forum to share information on disaster preparedness and planning, and contains links to advice on how to salvage collection items and personal treasures. Q-DIS is hosted by MA Nexus.
M&GSQ is compiling a register of people and organisations willing to donate their time, expertise, services, equipment and financial assistance to flood affected museums, galleries and other cultural heritage organisations. If you would like to register your details, please contact M&GSQ on 07 3215 0820 or email information@magsq.com.au

Should any museums, galleries or cultural heritage organisations require assistance, please also contact M&GSQ on freecall 1800 680 433.

For additional advice on how to salvage water damaged collections or personal treasures, please refer to the State Library of Queensland’s website under the ‘Useful Links’ section at www.slq.qld.gov.au or the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials (AICCM), the professional body for the conservation profession, website at www.aiccm.org.au

Badly damaged precious items may require professional conservation treatment. See AICCM's website for contact details of conservators in private practice.

While some organisations are currently closed due to the floods, there are many that are still OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Take a look at the register available above to see which venues are open in the affected area or visit each venue's website for updates.
