Preventive Conservation Workshop

FREE Preventive Conservation One Day Workshop – Brisbane

When: Saturday 14 May 9.30am-4.30pm
Where: City Archives, Skyline Business Centre, Unit 15/107-123 Muriel Ave, Moorooka, Qld

Are you a volunteer at a not-for-profit collection organisation who wants to learn more about how to care for the better preservation of your objects? This one-day workshop with Christine Ianna, Conservator and passionate advocate of preventive conservation will introduce you to principles of preventive conservation; agents of deterioration (symptoms & cause); spectrum of solutions for storage, display and treatment - the preferred, acceptable and not acceptable; disaster preparedness; and planning and object condition reporting.

Participants have the opportunity to bring their own object along for advice and assessment.
NOTE: If the object is FRAGILE or there is a risk it will be endangered or endanger other objects by travelling it to the workshop, please bring a photograph of it instead.

Cost: FREE to not-for-profit collection organisations such as museums, galleries, heritage groups - includes all workshop resources and catering.
